Russ and Kris Michaels are the heart behind Connect Church in Bozeman, Montana. Russ, the Lead Pastor, brings over thirty years of ministry experience and a deep academic background. His passion is guiding people beyond just knowing about Jesus—he wants everyone to actually know Him personally.

Kris is the leader of our Connect Church welcome team, always bringing joy and a friendly smile to everyone who walks through our doors. With a genuine gift for making people feel welcome and at home, Kris helps foster a sense of connection and belonging from the very first greeting.

Together, Russ, Kris, and the rest of the Connect Team and Family have made Connect Church a place where real relationships are built, questions are welcomed, and everyone can find a home—no matter where they are on their faith journey. Their vision is to see lives transformed by God’s love and to create a church family that reaches out, supports, and lifts up the community around them.

Russ is also the creator and host of the "Bible for Newbies" podcast, a resource designed for people who are new to reading the Bible or want to go deeper in their faith. His goal with the podcast is to untangle confusing topics and help listeners find Bible reading rewarding and life-giving—not frustrating or overwhelming. Russ believes Scripture is like a light shining in a dark place; his mission is to “turn on the headlights” so everyone can see the road ahead more clearly. Through practical episodes and personal stories, Russ encourages listeners to connect with God in everyday life and discover the transformative power of God's Word for themselves.
